For our baking soda free option, we have replaced baking soda with zinc oxide (yep--the same stuff you find in natural sunscreens). It does a great job of fighting odor! Why? It reacts with the short fatty acids that are responsible for the stinky odor, and instead converts them to odorless zinc salts. Pretty cool, huh? Perfectly safe and baking soda free, so our baking soda sensitive customers now have a natural option that they can use with ease. Yippee! The only downside? It goes on white (because of the zinc oxide). You can help with this by simply rubbing it in a bit with your fingers like lotion until the white has somewhat disappeared and you'll be fine. Not a perfect system, we understand, but we have a feeling that our customers who have been looking for a baking soda alternative will still be quite happy!  [Please note that the cost is a little higher for this option due to the cost of zinc oxide. Also, for those concerned about absorption, we do not use nano-particles, which means that the zinc oxide is not absorbed by the skin.]

Instructions on How to Use.

To use, apply to underarms in the morning or as needed. For best results, apply as close to the skin as possible (this goes especially for men, so a little trimming might help here!). The consistency is a bit thicker than store-bought deodorant, but it will absorb into the skin almost immediately.

*Note: If you are sensitive to baking soda or develop any sort of irritation, please discontinue use. If you are developing a sensitivity after using the product for some time, this could be because the underarm skin has lost some of its natural acidity due to the alkaline nature of the deodorant. One method to help bring the skin back to a normal pH is to mix a 1:4 ratio of apple cider vinegar to water & apply to the underarms each morning before applying your deodorant (let dry completely before applying deodorant). After 1-2 weeks you will likely see a remarkable improvement.

Please note: While our deodorant has been effective for about 97% of our customers, everyone is different. The efficacy of deodorant can be based on many things, including personal body chemistry, diet, skin pH, geographic location and physical activity. We can make no guarantees about how our deodorant will work for you, but we know that it has been effective for many, many customers!
